Katherine Helbig, MS, LCGC
Katherine Helbig is a licensed genetic counselor with the Division of Neurology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where she researches the role of genetic factors in childhood onset epilepsies and related neurodevelopmental disorders and provides genetic counseling to families in the Neurogenetics Clinic. She has a longstanding interest in epilepsy genetics, with previous experience in research, bioethics, and genomic diagnostics. She received her BA in Biological Sciences from Cornell University and her MS in Genetic Counseling from Arcadia University. In addition to her involvement with ClinGen, Katherine is a member of the ILAE Taskforce on Clinical Genetic Testing in the Epilepsies, co-chair of EpiGC, and co-author on upcoming practice guidelines regarding the use of genetic testing in patients with epilepsy.
